FAQs

For an unparalleled experience on the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek, the ideal periods to set out are during the pre-monsoon months from March to May and post-monsoon from late September to December. These windows offer the most favorable conditions for trekking. While February and early September are also viable, the peak times suggested ensure the best combination of weather and visibility.

The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is of moderate intensity. It’s designed for those who are in good health and have some experience with long-duration hikes, but it doesn't necessitate technical climbing skills. The primary challenges come from the trek's duration and the high-altitude environment. Pre-trek physical preparation and understanding the trek’s geographic profile can ease the experience. This luxury trek eases some of the hardships with comfortable accommodations, making it a less arduous yet adventurous journey.

Accommodations in Kathmandu:

Enjoy three nights at the 5-star Aloft Kathmandu or similar, where the pulse of the city is within reach, including shops and cultural hotspots. Here, luxury meets convenience with stylish rooms, top-notch services, and a host of deluxe amenities, ensuring your stay is nothing short of exceptional. Accommodations are based on twin-sharing, with the option for a single room at an additional cost.

Lodging on the Trek:

  • Luxury Lodges: For three nights in Phakding and Namche, relax in the lavish Mountain Lodges of Nepal, where comfort is redefined with heated beds, private bathrooms, and fine dining, all wrapped in warm Sherpa hospitality.
  • Teahouses/Lodges: As you ascend, five nights will be spent in standard teahouses/lodges, offering the basic necessities along with the warmth of Nepali hospitality. Rooms provide the essential comfort to recharge after a day's trek, complete with incredible views. Dining areas are cozy and welcoming, perfect for unwinding. To augment the teahouses’ offerings, we supply you with a snug sleeping bag for those chilly Himalayan nights.

Opting for a single room during your trek? Our policy is to pair group travelers with a roommate of the same gender and similar age. If you prefer private accommodations, a single supplement is available for an additional USD 1400. This option secures a private room in Kathmandu and at luxury lodges during the first three nights in Phakding and Namche. Beyond Namche, the availability of private lodging is limited, and during peak seasons, securing a private room may not be feasible, irrespective of willingness to pay extra, as lodges prioritize accommodating all trekkers.

If you decide to cancel your Everest Luxury Trek, Recreation Holidays provides a lifetime deposit policy that allows flexibility. Your deposit can be transferred to another person or a different trip. Specific cancellation charges will apply if you cancel your booking. For complete details, you should review the booking terms and conditions provided by Recreation Holidays.

After traversing the majestic trails, you'll retreat to the finest luxury lodges for a night of serene relaxation. These havens offer Western toilets and heating facilities, ensuring your comfort. Most nights, you'll have the luxury of an electric blanket and an en suite bathroom, with room temperatures kept cozy at 10-12°C (50-53°F), providing the perfect setting for a rejuvenating sleep to fuel your next day's adventure.
